The Editor, Sir:
I am replying to a letter by one Patrick Harding in which it was stated that one did not choose to be gay. I cannot conceive how a loving God would create someone with a gay gene and then have it stated in the Bible that it is an abomination.
Some parents have themselves to blame, boys should look like boys and girls look like girls. I once saw a mother with her son at a very young age playing with a doll; she thought it was ok for him to have a doll to play with. I saw a boy sometime ago who I kept referring to as a girl because he had long braided hair. The children should know that they are different, so they should look different.
I once was watching on a TV programme a man who stated he was gay and changed his lifestyle, wrote a book, and gays were upset about it, not wanting it published. They are calling wrong right, refuse to get counselling and want others to accept their way of life. They should not be allowed to adopt children either.
Multiply and replenish was a command given by God and since, like most Jamaicans, I believe that the principles laid down by God are right, I certainly hope that the Government does not buckle under the pressure of foreign governments and change the law of the country. God has never made a mistake but men always do.
I am, etc.,
