1 'Former' means just that
People who have the word 'former' attached to their names ought to understand how others view them - someone who used to be but is no longer. Take this former beauty queen who turned up at the airport with heaps of attitude recently. She did not impress any of those working behind the desk when she was trying to sort out her booking. Someone made the mistake of asking, "do you know who this is?"

3 Trafigura deal dead?
Will someone tell the country whether one drop of Nigerian oil has been lifted in the name of Jamaica since the Trafigura imbroglio? It is our understanding that tenders were invited for a new arrangement and that a successful bidder was identified. However, we cannot find anyone who knows what has happened since. Does Minister Mullings know?
4 BOJ's role
Many people are asking whether the Bank of Jamaica failed in its duty to turn the searchlight on alternative investment schemes when it should have. All the talk this week has centred on savings clubs and investment schemes and many were shocked to learn that even the Church has been dabbling in the securities business.
5 Cost of an OJ
How much does an OJ cost? Not orange juice, stupid, the national honour which carries the title 'Honourable'.
From all indications, it is accorded to persons who have made significant national contribution to the country. There is at least one Jamerican who figured that a contribution of $75,000 could get him that pin on his lapel ... but no, he was told he had to wait a bit longer.
