Considered Jamaica's next big female duo, the Islandgirlz produce a sensationally fresh sound, with beautiful vocals and fantastic harmony. The girls, Savanna, who is 10 years old, and Tiffany, who is 13, are releasing their debut album, which is the first step on their list of goals over the next five years.

The album which is called ST1 has six tracks. The singles include previous releases such as Promise Us Love and Save Your Dollarz, and are joined by Come Follow Me, Better Dayz, Sunshine and a remix of the latter. The Sunshine track features one of Jamaica's top dancehall writers and producers, Don Mafia who adds a drop of his dancehall flavour to the girls R and B sound, creating a fabulous musical mixture.

The Islandgirlz have already made appearances on several national talk shows including, CVM Sunrise, TVJ Smile Jamaica, and Jenny Jenny's Amazing Kids.

Publicity

The youngsters, bent on publicising themselves nationally, have already made their mark on the international market. Rise Above It International, a Toronto-based company, is making a new reggae compilation album due this month or May with the girls being featured on two tracks.

"This is quite an achievement for the girls at their age," mentioned a proud Ray Cole, producer of Islandgirlz. Don Mafia is also impressed with the girls talent and believes they will indeed make it in the musical world, both locally and internationally.

ST1, the girls first album is absolutely wonderful , spreading the message of peace, love and hope. The album which gets its name from the initials of the girls first names, is one that can be enjoyed by children, teenagers and adults. It is definitely worth the listen.

To listen to the album you can visit their myspace address at URL:http://www.myspace.com/islandgirlzmusic. The album may be purchased via the Internet at Tune Core.
