Frank Grandison - File
On August 13, last year, we told the story of some of Frank Grandison's strange experiences, which border on the paranormal. In a recent conversation with him, he told His Story that he was still having the visions. But, today, we go back to 1984, when, he claimed, he had a most amazing encounter at Holywell, in the Blue and John Crow Mountains.
One evening, while he was living in East Amour Heights in St Andrew, Frank went jogging. Upon returning home, he jumped up on to one of his gate columns to rest. Then, he heard a man's voice said, "Look up and tell me what you see." He replied, "All I see are stars," and went on to ask, "Who is inside my body telling me to look up?"
Speaking voice
"I am Jesus Christ, is there anything special about any of these stars?" the voice asked. Frank used his right index finger and pointed to a star, and said, "If you are Jesus Christ, move that star." Instantaneously, the star to which he pointed dashed across the sky with a very bright light behind it.
It lit up the entire area around the gate and made a circle around Frank and the gate column. He jumped to the ground, sprinted into his house and attempted to hide under his bed. He could not; the bed was too low to the floor. He ran into his living room, and stood in a corner trembling. Then, he felt urine running down his legs and into his shoes. He said to himself, "As long as I live on this Earth, I will not say there is no God anymore."
When morning came, he reflected on what happened the night before. He said, "Since you are a God who moved the star, I need to see you. I heard that Peter saw Jesus Christ by the sea; therefore, I am going to the sea to see if I will see you." And, so off he went, in his car, towards Port Royal, located on the Palisadoes peninsula, south of Kingston.
He parked his car about one mile from the town, and walked on to the beach. It was about 10 a.m. As he strolled, he looked towards the western sky, and said, "Since you are a God who moved the star, let me see you." After waiting for about 15 minutes, there was no sighting, and he came to the conclusion that God did not exist.
As he walked leisurely along the sands, he skipped a stone upon the sea. He was about to skip another when he felt the presence of someone behind him. What he said he saw when he turned around was the image of a six-foot-tall, 30-year-old man, dressed in a white robe. The feet of this shadow were about six inches off the sand.
Follow the shadow
The shadow told him, "I am not here; if you need to see me, follow me." It then walked towards Frank's car, its feet not touching the sand. When it reached the door, it walked through the passenger door without opening it, and sat. Frank rushed into the car, and asked, "Why did you not open the door?" The shadow turned its head, looked at Frank, but said nothing.
Frank headed back to Kingston, with the shadow telling him where to go. He said, "When I reached the traffic light at the top of Old Hope Road, this shadow said, "Drive towards Blue Mountain Inn." When I passed the Blue Mountain Inn, I heard, "Turn left." I am now driving up the hill around lots of corners, not knowing where I was going. I drove through a soldiers' camp. When I reached a signpost which says, Kingston and St Andrew, this shadow said, "Stop the car." Then, he vanished before my eyes."

Believing it was a ghost that brought him to the spot, Frank became afraid, got out of the car, and looked around. There was a nightingale with human-like eyes looking at him from a 10-foot tall tree across the road. Then, it flew over the car and into another tree. He locked the car door, and followed the bird as it flew from tree to tree up a winding path until it reached a hut at what appeared to be a campsite. The bird stopped in a tree to the left of the hut, in which Frank went, and sat on a bench made of wood.
Surrounded by fog
It was about noon, and the weather was very hot. There was no cloud in the sky; the air was still, and the environs very quiet. Then, he saw a mist slowly drifting towards the campsite from his left. "Then, all of a sudden, the entire site was enveloped by a dense fog. I could not see any part of my body or my clothes," Frank recalled.
The campsite became covered with grass and surrounded by a thick fog. Nothing could be seen. Frank was now sitting in a room made of fog with a grass floor. Inside was well lit.
He looked up to his right and saw a black man with short black hair - dressed in a white robe, and about 30 years old - floating in mid-air, about 20 feet off the ground. He wore a sash around his waist. He looked at Frank, and began to walk slowly towards the ground as if he were walking down some steps towards the southern wall.
All this time, the fog was still forming walls and a roof around the campsite. When the man reached about three feet off the ground, and about 17 feet from where Frank was sitting, he stopped. Frank got up and walked towards him.
"Then he held his hands in front of his body and showed me the palm of his hands. I saw one hole in each palm about three centimetres wide as if a nail had made each hole in his hands. Around each hole looks like blood. Then, he crossed his right foot over his left, and I saw one hole in his right foot between his ankle and his toes about the same size of the holes in his palms." Frank recollected.
He said to Frank, "I am Jesus Christ, the road which you are on is going to be rocky, but I will always be here to guide and protect you." The man leaned forward with his face about one foot from Frank's, looked into Frank's eyes, and vanished. Immediately, the fog lifted, and everything went back to normal. Frank followed the path to his car and drove home.
