It's Monday morning, the alarm sounds as the clock strikes 6:30 a.m., which means that it's time to drag yourself out of bed if you want to beat the heavy flow of traffic heading to work. Breakfast will have to be made, you haven't ironed your work clothes and you have to take the children to school.
Here are several tips on how to survive those dreadful Monday mornings:
1. Prepare for the upcoming week:
Try to do as much extra work on the weekend as you can, so that when you get in office on Monday morning, your tasks are much lighter.
2. A cellphone is not only for calls:
Since technology is the way to go, use your BlackBerry and make a to-do list. This will help you to feel more organised and prepared.
3. Sunday night party pooper:
Steer clear of Sunday night parties, as you wouldn't want to drain yourself and make your Monday mornings more dreadful than they already are.
4. Take action Sunday night:
If you can't go to bed early Sunday night, make your Monday mornings lighter by preparing your outfit or what you will have for breakfast so that you can get half an hour more rest when the clock strikes.
5. Reality check:
We all need to realise that Monday is part of the week and we can't get around it. So, calling in sick on a Monday morning will not work every time.
