Plight of NIS pensioners
The NIS pensioners are still finding it very hard to survive on the present benefit being paid to them. With the alarming increases in the cost of especially basic food items and utilities the pensioners cannot cope.
It has been six months since the minister has taken up office and we the pensioners are yet to hear from him whether or not he intends to grant an increase and by how much to assist the pensioners in their daily struggle with the rising cost of living.
The minister has already assisted other categories of individuals, but has completely ignored the plight of pensioners, arguably the most vulnerable in the society. The pensioners are also seeking the assistance of the Prime Minister in this matter.

Teen against condoms
I have been hearing this topic for weeks now and it's been very disturbing. I am a 15-year-old student and I believe that condoms should not be issued in schools. I believe that issuing condoms to teenagers is a way of telling them that it is alright to have sex at this age, as long as you wear a condom.
Giving us condoms in school is just a way of influencing us to have sex. A lot of girls in school who are having sex would say no to a guy when he offers her sex but does not have a condom with him, because she is afraid of pregnancy. But then if he doesn't have a condom, she might have one or his/her friends, since it is being issued.

Thank you, Reneto
A short letter to say well done, SSP Reneto Adams as you ride off into the sunset. You, sir, are one of the finest the JCF ever had. You have worked hard for the people of Jamaica. You were unselfish in your duty. No one could be more proud of you and honoured to say thank you, thank you, thank you. Well done, my friend.

PBC operation
The government's Public Broadcasting Corporation (PBC), which is due to be fully operational shortly, must be adequately funded and staffed by central government so that the PBC's television station can operate on a 24-hour basis on par with other international public broadcasting networks.
The proposed PBC should be formulated and established along similar lines as that of C-Span in the United States. When fully operational, it should broadcast all sittings of the House of Represenatives and the Senate so as to keep the public consistently informed in a comprehensive manner on all parliamentary issues in this country.
