At least two persons were shot and killed by gunmen, while a special constable was shot and injured and a gun taken off the nation's streets on the weekend, according to reports from the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN).
A special corporal attached to Harman Barracks was robbed then shot and injured by one of two gunmen at his home at Pembroke Hall, Kingston 19, last Saturday. Two other persons were also robbed in the incident.
Reports are that about 8:30 p.m., the corporal and two other occupants were at home when two men, one armed with a gun, entered. All three were robbed of an undetermined sum of money, cellular phones and jewellery. On leaving, the robbers opened fire, hitting the corporal several times. He was taken to hospital where he was admitted in serious but stable condition.

The Elletson Road police in Kingston are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man by unknown assailant(s) on Bryden Street, Kingston 16, last Saturday morning.
Dead is 19-year-old Ricardo Orlando Matthews, of Elletson Road, Kingston 16.
According to police reports, at about 3:00 a.m., residents heard explosions in the area and summoned the police. On the arrival, the lawmen found Matthews' body in a gully with multiple gunshot wounds. The crime scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue.

Meanwhile, a 29-year-old labourer was shot and killed by unknown assailants on Hendon main road, St James.
Dead is Richard Allen, otherwise called 'Ritchie' and 'Greasy', of Hendon, Norwood.
Reports from the CCN's liaison officer for St James are that about 4:20 a.m., Allen and a female companion were walking home when they were approached by men armed with guns. They held up and robbed them of their cellphones and an undetermined sum of money. Upon leaving, the men opened fire, hitting Allen several times, before escaping.
He died on the spot. His female companion managed to escape unhurt. The police were summoned, the crime scene processed and the body subsequently removed to the morgue for post-mortem.
