Another cop, son on corruption charges
published: Saturday | March 15, 2008

Another member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force has been arrested on corruption charges.

Detective Sergeant Nowell Morgan and his son Morelando were arrested for breaches of the Corruption Prevention Act.

The detective sergeant was assigned to the Ocho Rios Criminal Investigations Bureau in St Ann. His son is a teacher in Oracabessa, St Mary.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Justin Felice says the two were arrested during an operation conducted by detectives from the anti-corruption branch in Ocho Rios yesterday.

ACP Felice said the cop and his son would be interviewed by officers from the Anti-Corruption Unit.

He said the unit was in the process of conducting further investigations into the matter.
