Get the facts, Ms Ritch
published: Wednesday | February 27, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

The ultrafeminist in Ms Ritch is spewing from her nostril so forcefully that she, the carefully fact-checking columnist, is slipping up. It is Jesse Jackson's wife who supports Hillary; Jesse and his son support Obama; and the line that caucuses are held at a special time which is not convenient to all voters is absolutely untrue (You must be very angry Ms Ritch; it's not like you to make up stories). Then, there is the story that Obama did not vote for the war but voted to finance the troops. What did you expect him to do? Leave them over there without proper resources? Know Ye, Ms Ritch, that Harlem was not Bill Clinton's first choice for office. He relocated to Harlem after the outcry from the press and the American people that they would not pay for his lofty Fifth Avenue/Midtown suite of offices.

You are barking up the wrong tree, Sista. You have no say in this Obama/Clinton affair. Why didn't you use all that man-hating energy to re-elect Mrs Simpson Miller prime minister? Back off Obama and mind you own damn business!

I am, etc,

JOAN STEWART
