School security
published: Tuesday | February 26, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

While many people are focussing on the indiscipline between teachers and students at a number of schools, I see a larger and very worrying scenario on the horizon which can be stopped before what has happened in other countries occurs here. We have to secure our children and teachers from the many deranged moronic parents and others out there, given the number of guns around. If the school building can be locked up at night why not lock it when the most important goods are inside?

A simple lock costing less than $500 will hold off the most ill-tempered parent, as they are normally not too bright!

I am, etc.,

Phil Foster, Southfield

St Elizabeth
