New United States visa application rules
published: Saturday | February 23, 2008

The consular section of the United States Embassy will open up visa renewal appointments on Saturday, March 8, for persons holding a 10-year, multiple-entry visa with expiration dates from March 8, 2007 to March 7, 2009.

Applicants must pay their fee and schedule their appointments online through the usual system at https://evisaforms.state.gov/default.asp?postcode=KNG&appcode=3.

All appointment requests will be automatically checked in the computerised visa records system and those whose information does not match a 10-year visa with the appropriate expiration dates will find their appointment deleted, and they will not be accommodated on March 8, a statement from the embassy said.

Applicants with appointments who do not show a previous 10-year multiple-entry visa meeting the expiration date requirements stated above will not be seen.

Applicants should arrive for their appointments no earlier than 30 minutes before their appointment time and no later than 15 minutes after.

Cellphones, cameras, beepers and all other electronic items are not permitted on the embassy compound.
