Bull Bay upset Mt View United
published: Wednesday | February 20, 2008

Keisha Hill, Staff Reporter

BULL BAY United created a major upset in the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Super League on the weekend when they defeated Mountain View United 5-0 to increase their points total to 26, dethroning group leaders Mead-haven United, who remain on 24 points.

Meadhaven United, who had a two-point advantage over Bull Bay leading up to last Saturday's games, had a bye.

In other Super League matches, the Jamaica Defence Force edged Rockfort 4-1 and increased their total to 20. Police National were also winners as they defeated Cavalier 1-0, while Constant Spring went down 2-1 to Duhaney Park.

The match between Maverley/Hughenden and Santos was not played because of the absence of police personnel.

There were no surprises in Major League action as group leaders Real Mona improved their lead to 28 points by defeating Cooreville Gardens 3-0. Rae Town moved into second place on 21 points following a 3-0 win over Olympic Gardens.

Liguanea United were relegated into third place on 19 points after going down 1-0 to Barbican, and UTech remain at the bottom of the table on four points following their 2-1 defeat to Seaview Gardens.

In the Syd Bartlett League, Pembroke Hall increased their points total to 11 after trouncing Island Special Constabulary Force 4-1. Group leaders Port Royal, on 17 points, were the rest team in the league and will have to do well in their upcoming encounters as Molynes United, on 14 points, have edged closer to the lead following their 2-1 win over Shortwood United.

Allman/Woodford moved to 10 points after defeating New Kingston 1-0 and Maxfield Park registered a 1-0 win over Meadforest.
