SANDALS WINS AGAIN: Voted 'Best All-Inclusive Resort'
published: Sunday | February 17, 2008

Gordon 'Butch' Stewart

Sandals Resorts has been named again as 'Best All-Inclusive Resort' at the Travel Weekly's 2008 Globe Travel Awards held recently at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

The Globe Travel Awards have celebrated the industry's strongest performers and hottest brands, and have become a hallmark for quality, class and achievement for 31 years.

According to a release from the hotel chain, the award, which was voted for by the travel industry, was given as a result of Sandals' leadership in Caribbean travel. "It has once again been recognised that Sandals has raised the bar among distinctive resort destinations with the introduction of the 'Luxury Included Holiday' and a collection of luxury suites in Jamaica, Antigua, St Lucia and The Bahamas," the hotel chain said.

In commenting on the award, Sandals chairman Gordon 'Butch' Stewart said, "Yet again, awards such as this could not have been possible without the destinations that we choose to place our product in, such as Jamaica, playing their part in the work that we do."

In this regard, he said the award was not only for Sandals but also this "special island".

"Both myself and all the staff would like to thank Jamaica for its commitment to helping us improve the experience that visitors to the island receive," Stewart stated.
