Q I am a 20-year-old guy who is sexually active, and when I am having intercourse I discharge very quickly. Would thinking of other things help?
A Yes, it will help a little bit. You could also ask a doc to prescribe for you one of the antidepressant drugs which delay climax.
Also, I suggest you use the Net to look up the Masters-Johnson treatment of premature ejaculation.
Q I have to take TWO birth-control pills a day in order to control my menses. Could this affect me negatively?
A Occasionally, it is necessary to take two doses of the Pill for the day, particularly if the person is very big. But I hope you are doing this under a doc's supervision.
Taking two per day does increase the risk of Pill side effects. But as you are young and (I hope) do not smoke, the danger of SERIOUS side effects, like clots, is not great.
Q I have been with my boyfriend for three years, and we have been having some problems recently. The thing is, he thinks I am cheating on him!
Is there any medical way I can prove to him that he is the only sexual partner I have?
A No, I am afraid that there is no such medical test. Unfortunately, some young men are extraordinarily and irrationally jealous.
I should warn you that sometimes this jealousy arises at a point where the male's mind is subconsciously beginning to turn towards the idea of finding a reason to end the relationship. However, this may not necessarily be the case with your guy.
Q Doc, I am a 19-year-old guy, and good at sport. Recently, I have been having a little pain in my chest, near my heart.
Could these be heart attacks?
A Heart attacks are almost unknown in men as young as you - except if they have been messing with cocaine.
However, I have seen vast numbers of young sportsmen who complain of pains in the chest, but whose problems turn out to be purely muscular. But for your own reassurance, have a doc check you over.
Q I am a guy of 17, and I love a girl of 13. I love her more than the life that God has given me. She loves me too.
Everyone says she is too young for me, but intellectually we are perfectly matched.
Is loving her wrong, doc? Should I stop loving her?
A This girl is too young for sex. But if your relationship is a mental and spiritual one, I see no reason why your loving relationship should not continue. I wish you both well.
Q Doc, I have a real embarrassing problem for you. Whenever my boyfriend and I go to bed together, I perform the oral sex on him. Obviously, he likes this.
But we go all the way until he discharges. And then he expects me to swallow. I do NOT like that!
The ejaculate makes me feel literally sick, and I want to throw up.
So am I abnormal, doc? Why do I feel sick whenever I try to swallow? Why is it difficult for me to swallow? Have I got something wrong with my throat?
Also, can swallowing sperms be bad for a girl's health? And could those sperms cause digestive problems?
A Well, I have received several emails about this subject recently from young women. So clearly it is a problem which causes concern to quite a few females.
Before I answer your various queries, can I just address the question of WHY your boyfriend wants you to swallow. That is something which is often incomprehensible to women!
If a woman gives a man oral sex - which is termed fellatio - he will probably want to try to go all the way and discharge into her throat. For him, the experience will probably not be complete unless she swallows his ejaculate.
What you probably do not realise is that a lot of other women find this procedure absolutely disgusting! These days. it is often assumed that females are very happy to 'go along with' simply ANYTHING that their guys want to do in bed. But that is not entirely true. In fact, quite a lot of ladies will happily give a blowjob - but NOT allow men to ejaculate into their mouths.
Males often have the wrong idea about this. Frequently, they have read pornographic stories which suggest that ALL sexy women are absolutely delighted to have seminal fluid squirted into their throats - and then to swallow it. And indeed, there are many females who have no problem with that. However, others like you don't like the idea.
Now let me try to answer your various queries.
First, you ask whether you are abnormal. No, you're not. As we have seen above, quite a lot of women share your views.
Second, you ask why you feel sick whenever time you try to swallow. There are two reasons for this. Seminal fluid is a little slimy and messy - rather like uncooked egg white. Also, the human throat is equipped with nerves which make it contract when anything unfamiliar or unpleasant comes into contact with it. Medically, this is called 'the gag reflex' and it is a protective mechanism. So that is why it is difficult for you to swallow seminal fluid. And no, there is nothing wrong with your throat.
Finally, you ask me whether swallowing sperms could be 'bad for a girl' or affect her digestion. No, the practice usually seems to be harmless to the health.
So what are you to do? There are three possibilities for a female who agrees to give a man oral sex, but is not too happy about the idea of swallowing:
1. She can give him the fellatio, but insist that he withdraws before climax;
2. She can allow him to discharge in the mouth, but insist on spitting the fluid out into a tissue;
3. She could also agree to swallow, hoping that the experience will become less unpleasant as time goes on - which is possible, in view of the fact that the 'gag reflex' will gradually become less severe.
Personally, I do not think very much of that third possibility because I am a firm believer in the idea that no woman (or man) should be pressured into doing sex acts which they dislike!
