Wounded Portsmouth meet Racing UTD

Wounded Portsmouth FC meet Racing United at 3:30 p.m. in the feature match of the eighth round of the WIHCON-sponsored Portmore Division Two Football League at the Portsmouth playing field.

Portsmouth saw their 100 per cent win record dashed with a 1-0 loss to eighth-place Caymanas Gardens Site D last Sunday. However, they still lead the league with 18 points; four more than Watson Grove and Greater Portmore each having 14 points, while Racing United defeated Daytona 4-2 to lie in joint fourth place with Christian Pen on 13 points.

In the curtain-raiser at Portsmouth, bottom-place Portmore Pines play Daytona at 1:30 p.m. In other games, it's Watson Grove vs Braeton United at 1:30 p.m., Greater Portmore vs Caymanas Gardens Site D at 3:30 p.m. (both games at Greater Portmore), Caymanas Gardens vs Hellshire United at 1:30 p.m. and Newtown Braeton vs Christian Pen at 3:30 p.m. (both games at Hellshire).

Skittles semi-finals

The semi-finals of the Jamaica Skittles Federation Henkel-sponsored Pattex Cup skittles competition take place tomorrow with leaders Dragon facing Eastern All-Stars and defending champions Cherry's Strikers up against Meadowvale.

Both matches start at 3:00 p.m. and the winners will advance to the final on Sunday, February 24, at Bejon's Sports Bar, Hughenden Plaza.

The Dragon vs Eastern Al-Stars match will be played at Waltham Strikers Skittles Club, 44 1/2 Waltham Park Road, while the Cherry's Strikers and second-place Meadowvale will meet at House of Peace, 23 1/2 Berwick Road, Whitfield Town.

Last Sunday, in the final matches of the preliminary round, Eastern All-Stars clipped the 2007 Wray & Nephew champions Rowe's Strikers 6-5 in a crucial match to secure the fourth semi-final slot.

Portmore's Meadowvale Strikers extended their winning streak to five with a 7-4 away victory against leaders Dragon at Giltress Street, Rollington Town, to claim bragging rights going into the semis.

CTL Portmore domino

Eradication from Gregory Park are once again sole leaders of the CTL Portmore/St Catherine Domino League, having won their 11th round match last Sunday while former joint leaders Fort International tasted defeat.

Eradication moved to 51 points from 11 matches following their 300-194 demolition of High Roller in an away match at Portmore Town Centre. And Fort International slipped to joint second when they were beaten 300-285 by high-riding Caribbean Classic in the feature match played at Caribbean Classic, Portmore Lane.

Caribbean Classic, as a result, are joint second with Fort International, both on 47 points from 11 matches. They are followed by Eagle View with 46 points from 11 matches, Ackee Pod 43 from 11, while there is a three-way tie involving Right Stuff, Village Link and defending champions Hurricane, all on 42 points from 11 matches. The first eight in the standings will advance to the quarter-finals.

Results of matches played last Sunday: Correctional Services beat JUTC 300-282, Village Link stopped Masterpiece 300-284, Lime Tree defeated Ken's Wildflower 300-272, Hurricane drubbed ISCF 300-249, Eagle View beat Right Stuff 300-282, Ackee Pod got by New Look 300-268, Marliemount beat Seamaster 300-289, while Prozz and Con defeated Old Harbour United 300-278.

Tomorrow's feature match pits home team Eradication against Eagle View at Gregory Park, starting at 11:30 a.m.

Seba vs national Under-21 team

The Digicel Kick Start Clinic football match between Seba United and the national Under-21 football team is on this afternoon at the Barbican Football Field starting at 3:00 p.m.

Seba, from Montego Bay, are coached by former national player Theodore Whitmore and include Delroy Ellis, Norman Foster, Wilfred Smith, Keniel Moodie, Mario Samuels, Sean McNish, Donovan Peart and Kemar James.

Supligen/KSAFA Under-20 league

Tivoli Garden FC defeated Whitfield Town 2-1 in one of four matches played in the Supligen/KSAFA Under-20 league for the Leighton Duncan Trophy on Thursday afternoon. In other matches, Arnett Gardens and Waterhouse played to a 1-1 draw, Stony Hill clipped Molynes United 1-0, while neighbours Duhaney Park and Cooreville Gardens played to a 0-0 draw.

Church launches Twenty20 League

The Power of Faith Ministries Twenty20 Limited-over Church Cricket League was launched at the Power of Faith Church, Dawkins Drive, Portmore Town Centre, last Saturday.

Ten teams are down to contest this year's competition with Power of Faith Ministries senior team, the defending champions.

The competition is tentatively set to begin on Saturday, March 22, at the Lime Tree Oval.

The teams are playing for the Dr Delford Davis trophy for Excellence.

The competition's executive has included a knock-out tournament for the top four teams in the league, giving them a chance to win the Dr. Delford Davis Challenge Shield.
