Fifth and sixth-form students from five parishes in western Jamaica will gather on February 27 with their guidance counsellors for a special one-day school-leavers' event to be held at the West Jamaica Conference Centre, Mt Salem, in Montego Bay, St James.

Titled 'Get On Track - Practical Preparation for Life & Work', the event will be put on by the regional career and education company CHOICES Career Advice. Other important features of the event will be private career counselling to be provided by students of the Sam Sharpe Teachers' College and a full-day symposium by the Caribbean Maritime Institute showcasing its programme offerings.
