For some artistes this coming Valentine's Day will see special activities, while for others, it will be just another ordinary day.

Despite the fact that some artistes are unable to avoid having to work or fly abroad to do shows on the day, those who actually celebrate Valentine's Day have planned ahead.

Craig of Voicemail says "for this Valentine I plan to see my girlfriend and my mother; they both live in New York".

According to Craig, he had planned to surprise them because "they don't know I'm coming. But I plan to, maybe, see a Broadway show, separate and apart from the gift I'll be carrying".

Family and friends

However, his Voicemail colleagues, Kevin and Oneil, says this Valentine's Day will be like any other for them as they don't believe in being nice to their special someone on one day for the year.

"Well me nuh celebrate Valentine's," Kevin says. "I will be doing my regular thing, get up, play some ball or X Box. I don't need any one day out of the year to celebrate with my special someone. We do that every day."

And Oneil agrees, as he says "for me basically every day is Valentine's Day, so I am going to be doing what I normally do. I treat my girl special every day, so it's going to be the same kind of flex. But wi still love the day and wi endorse it and all those who support it".

Ce'Cile says unfortunately she will be one of those artistes who will have to be off the island for a show, but nevertheless her man will still receive a special gift from her.

"I will be on a plane heading to the island of Nevis, but on that plane I will be writing the most sexy letter to my man and I will take a very sexy picture on my BlackBerry phone and email it to him," Ce'Cile said.

Having to 'exercise every day' will be the least of Bugle's worries on Valentine's Day, as he says he will be well occupied with his two favourite girls.

"I'll be going out with my mother and my girl. A mi first and second lady dat and I'll just spend a quiet evening with them," Bugle said.

Enjoyment and fun

Kevin and Oneil of Voicemail will be treating it like an ordinary day, while Craig will be making a New York trip.

Busy Signal says he is not in too much worry over what he will be doing on Valentine's Day, as he plans to just spend some money on his special women and leave the rest (of females) to enjoy themselves.

"Mi a guh jus spen some money pon some woman, but first and foremost mi haffi spen pon mi modda an mi daughter. Di rest a girl dem mi wi gi dem some money mek dem guh enjoy demself an mi guh hit di studio," Busy said.

And for the likes of Demarco it was pretty much the same, only his focus was all on the music. According to Demarco "a studio mi a pre, more hit songs".

Singer Da'Ville says he will be in the UK for three shows on Valentine's weekend, "but I'm going to put something in place before for my special someone".

Another singer, Chris Martin, says he intends to just go out and have fun as his birthday falls on Valentine's Day. "Valentine's Day a mi birthday ... Mi nuh have no specific plans. Is a school day, suh afterwards mi a plan fi guh pon di north coast and spoil miself," Martin said.

"I will send some roses to some special females in my life, my mother, Ms Martin, and my second mother, Ms Gordon," he added.
