The Pick-9 starts anew after one lucky punter walked away with a cool million at Caymanas Park last Saturday.
With only eight races scheduled on Wednesday, the Pick-9 had to be sidelined, but the Super-6 was caught by several punters, despite a 17-1 upset by THE SMOKER in the penultimate race for the Ash Wednesday Trophy.Tomorrow's Pick-9 embraces races three to 11, the Super-6 from six to 11.We look at the Super-6 which gets underway with a $210,000 - $180,000 claiming race in which seven starters have been declared. SHAHID, who was a winner over the distance on December 15 on a $260,000 tag, has failed to follow up in three subsequent races, but this represents his easiest task since that winning effort. The eight-year-old horse gets the nod over MEDICAL ACCOUNT, who won convincingly on Wednesday over 1300 metres, this on a $210,000 tag.
Hat-trick
The seventh race for high claimers over 1200 metres should resolve itself into a straight fight between the recent winners JET BLASTER under champion jockey Omar Walker and JACK BE GOOD, who steps up in class in a bid for the hat-trick. It should be close, but JET BLASTER won over 1100 metres at this level on January 26 and thus gets the vote.Briefly, BLUE MARLIN, now dropped in class, is fancied to beat YAMASHITA'S GOLD and CHOSEN ONE over the straight in the eighth, while it should be STATE PRINCE, OUTSTANDING and IN THE PRIME in the last three races.
