The Editor, Sir:This is the second time in the last five years that I am writing a letter regarding the deplorable, atrocious, very dangerous conditions of the road in Claverty Cottage, Portland. Claverty Cottage is a place I call home I have lived abroad for over 20 years now. Two weeks ago, I went home to bury my grandmother and I was sickened by the poor condition of the road in Claverty Something needs to be done!
Wonderful place
What is the purpose of having a member of Parliament that cannot represent the constituency for a better quality of life? Claverty is a wonderful place to live and it appears that the Government of Jamaica has decided that fixing the road in Claverty Cottage is a lost cause.A professional like me would love to engage my colleagues in education to get involved in assisting the Claverty Cottage All-Age School. However, I am embarrassed because they would not even be able to visit the school. This is an outright shame! In the words of my 80-year-old grandfather, who still lives in Claverty, "We have no road, what we have is a river coast." Prime Minister Golding and Member of Parliament, Mr Vaz, Claverty Cottage needs help!I am, etc.,CHERREL MILLER-DYCEmsdasa@aol.comVia Go-Jamaica
