The Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ) will this week commence public consultations on the National Development Plan - Vision 2030, starting on Wednesday at the Montego Bay Civic Centre town hall. The consultations, which will be held islandwide, are a follow-up to the planning process launched in October 2007.

PIOJ Director General Dr Wesley Hughes will give an overview of the issues and Richard Lumsden, economic development specialist, PIOJ, will present a summary of the Vision 2030 Jamaica sector plans.

Joseph Williams, president, Lay Magistrates' Association (representing the custos of St James), will bring remarks. Members of parliament, representatives from the business community, chamber of commerce, as well as community-based groups, schools and the general public, will be in attendance.
