Seba, Arnett draw 1-1
published: Friday | January 25, 2008

Nodley Wright, Freelance Writer

Seba United on Wednesday night stopped the winning run of Arnett Gardens under new coach Jerome Waite when they held the former champions to a 1-1 draw at Jarrett Park.

Waite, the club's most successful coach was brought to resuscitate the team following a dismal run, highlighted by a 0-2 loss to Village United at Elliston Wakeland Centre. That prompted the removal of coach Max Straw and the re-employment of Waite. Since then they won two games on the bounce and were looking for their third.

Things looked in favour of the visiting team early as they took an early lead. Gerald Neil, who had a good game in a more central defensive role, broke down the right flank and crossed for the unmarked Horace Sharpe.

The improving youngster made no mistake and slotted home in the 10th minute.

Seba United were never out of it and formulated attacks of their own.

Cornwall College schoolboy Edward Campbell looked particularly lively for his team in attack while Seian McNish looked at ease in his sweeper's position with Keniel Moodie giving him good support.

Striker Kwame Richardson looked hungry throughout the match and often made the veteran Norman Foster look his age but it was Seba United who would score next.

Delroy Ellis, the action man for Seba United pulled his team level in the 30th minute when he pounced on a left-sided corner by Foster to nod home past goalkeeper Julian McLeish.
