The 26-1 outsider CELEBRATION TIME (Oral Bennett aboard) wins the fifth race over 1600 metres ahead of RAMADA at Caymanas Park, last Saturday. - Colin Hamilton/Freelance photographer

Despite two upsets in CELEBRATION TIME and BUSTER JACK last Saturday, both the Pick-9 and Super-6 start anew at Caymanas Park tomorrow.

Tomorrow's Pick-9 embraces races three to 11, the Super-6 from six to 11. We look at the Super-6 which gets under way with a $170,000 claiming race over 1400 metres in which will more than likely come down to a straight fight between FRANKIE MORE-FIRE and MICHAEL POWER in a field of 11.

Encouraging race

FRANKIE MOREFIRE ran an encouraging race over the distance when stepping down to the grade on Boxing Day, finishing five lengths third to RISTO-CAT.

Now that much fitter and with champion jockey Omar Walker sticking with the ride, the hint should be taken. Next on the programme is a 1500-metre race for four-year-olds and up (non-winners of three other than) to be contested by nine starters. This race should provide keen competition among the quartet of MARK TO MARKET, CHIPON-YOURSHOULDER, SLOGAN and the recent winner PRIME MINISTER, who won by 5 3/4 lengths over 1400 metres in non winners of three on January 5.

While PRIME MINISTER and CHIPONYOURSHOULDER (working well) will have their share of supporters, the one to beat must surely be the Wayne DaCosta-trained MARK TO MARKET with Nelson aboard.

The eighth race (claiming $260,000 - $240,000), to be contested by 12 starters over 1100 metres, promises keen competition among the down-in-class TWENTY NINE, INTRO-SPECTION, YAMASHITA'S GOLD, SHAKE YOUR BOOTY, POWERFUL BELLE and the recent winner PURE JUSTICE, now up in class.

Briefly, LAWS OF LUVVE gets a glorious opportunity to score an overdue win in the ninth race over a mile. in which BUCK THE MINISTER and ROYAL CHRIS are twin dangers.

Then, take the well-forward debutante PASS LINE (working exceptionally well) from the stables of Percy Hussey to lead home another newcomer LADY LIZ and BALLROOM DANCER in the 10th race over the straight, Division II of the Eight Thirty Sprint, before closing off with down-in-class FIRE D TRAINER ahead of old rival BACK POCKET in the nightpan.
