Kingston College (KC) secured their second victory in this year's Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association/Grace Shield cricket competition, with an easy 10-wicket win over Penwood at Elleston Road yesterday.
The hosts, who won the toss and decided to field first, bowled out Penwood for a mere 86 in 23.2 overs with Akeem Dewar taking 4-19. He received good support from Kenniel Dennis, 2-17, and Dyshane Clarke, 2-20.
In reply, Orlando Hay 41 not out, and Ayani Burton, 38 not out, led KC's run-chase as the home side reached 88 without loss in 18.3 overs.
"It was an easy victory because the team we played isn't one of the traditional cricket schools," said Roy McLean, coach of KC. "Our boys played well because they played this match as if they were playing one of the top teams; we didn't let up."
Marlon Thomas, the coach of Penwood, said: "This is definitely a big disappointment because we were outplayed in all areas by KC today.
"We showed a lot of weaknesses and indiscipline in all areas. The players weren't focusing on the task at hand."
