Time for police amnesty
published: Wednesday | January 23, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

From the moment it was revealed that the new commissioner would be Rear Admiral Lewin, I felt cold blood run through my veins remembering his remarks about Tivoli as the mother of all garrisons.

I am not defending Tivoli, I know that there are gunmen there. Commissioner we need to hear from you about these five men who were killed.Cold blood also ran through my veins at the confession of Detective Constable Corey Lyn-Sue.When Jesus said "He that confess his sin he is willing to forgive and not only to forgive but to cleanse from all unrighteousness".

Condition of forgiveness

Confession is to acknowledge one's faith in anything, as in the existence and authority of God. In the Bible confession of sin before God and man is recognised as a condition of forgiveness. Take a look at David's confession before God, in Psalm 51.

What you should do commissioner is start afresh by calling on every policeman who has done wrong to come clean. Call an amnesty, and let the truth be said without any charges laid or anyone losing their jobs. Confession is power unto salvation.

Do not punish Lyn-Sue, he has become a Christian and while you condemn him and punish him God in Jesus Christ has forgiven and have compassion on him. The mother of the deceased has forgiven him, you will have to forgive him also. Please let him return to his job.

I am, etc.,

Evangelist RAPHAEL

MYERS

Gospel Ministry
