Confession a scatalyst for new police dawn
published: Monday | January 21, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

Let me use this medium to publicly congratulate Detective Constable Carey Lyn-Shue on his esteemed turn-around in life and may I say, his confession might be the catalyst for a new dawn in the way the security forces conduct their investigations and execute the duties entrusted to them.

I guess Rear Admiral Hardley Lewin had to do what was in the regulations in suspending him and examining all the cases he has been involved in; but I do hope and trust he does not even give a thought much less carry out the act of dismissal because common sense should dictate that Detective Lyn-Shue is the most trustworthy policeman that might be in the Force. His presence, alone, could be a deterrent to those involved in cases with which he is associated to desist from 'framing' evidence.

More honest confessions

This would give satisfaction to all involved that justice, at least from the side of the prosecution, has been done.

Silly though it may seem, I would welcome many more suspensions for honest confessions knowing that the ensuing re-instatements would set the pace for the dawning of a new light, hopefully a heavenly one, on the Jamaica Constabulary Force.

I presume the government authorities would finally realise that there is a power greater than that which they can conceive, capable of making changes they cannot.

Bless up, Detective Constable Carey Lyn-Shue, and may your testimony resonate throughout the entire police force.

I am, etc.,
