Dwight Nelson, Gleaner Writer

A motorcyclist was killed in Clarendon yesterday when he collided with an ambulance attached to the May Pen Hospital.

Dead is 23-year-old Shenrick Russell, of Eve Terrace, May Pen, while in hospital is pillion rider 23-year-old Dwayne Millwood of a May Pen address.

Police reports state that, about 12:45 p.m., the ambulance - an orange ford truck driven by 47-year-old Devon Francis of Palmers Cross, Clarendon, and owned by the Ministry of Health - and the motorcycle were travelling along the Glenmuir Road in opposite directions. On reaching the intersection at Chang's Avenue and Glenmuir Road, the vehicles collided. The rider of the motorcycle, along with the pillion rider, sustained severe injuries and were rushed to the May Pen Hospital where Russell succumbed to his injuries. Millwood was admitted in serious condition .

The May Pen Traffic Department is investigating.
