Brown refutes Air Jamaica threat
published: Thursday | January 17, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

The 'Letter of the Day' (The Gleaner, January 16) written by Carolyn Scott, wrongfully accused me of saying things I never said. In her letter, she claimed that "Mr. Lambert Brown strikes me as being on a 'power trip'. He is always threatening to 'lock down' Air Jamaica."

For the record, neither the University and Allied Workers' Union (UAWU) of which I am President, nor I represent workers at Air Jamaica. Nor have I ever called for the 'lock down' of Air Jamaica.

Those, like Carolyn Scott, who are quick to vilify others, should at least make an effort to get their information correct.

I am, etc.,

LAMBERT BROWN

President, UAWU.
