With carnival just around the corner, it's never too early to start the party. For these revellers, the party has already begun as they show off the costumes for this year's Bacchanal, during the official media launch of Bacchanal Jamaica Carnival at the Knutsford Court Hotel, last Thursday.

From visiting diplomats to a day at school to another new year's dinner two weeks into the year.

We are well into the new year, but that hasn't stopped the celebration. Managing director of Blue Diamond Shopping Centre in Montego Bay, Lachu Ramchandani (second left), hosted a new year's dinner and lyme at Club India on Lady Musgrave Road, last Friday. Back to school for a day. Prime Minister Bruce Golding speaks with students of Immaculate Conception High School after leaving the Holy Trinity Cathedral yesterday, following the Liturgy of the Eucharist in honour of the sesquicentennial anniversary of Immaculate Conception High and Preparatory schools, and celebrating 150 years of education in Jamaica by the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany. - Rudolph Brown/Chief Photographer
