C&W says sorry
published: Thursday | January 10, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

I write, with apologies for the delay, in response to a letter to the Editor in the December 29 edition of The Gleaner, in which a customer from the Tower Isle Area of St. Mary complained about several disruptions of his fixed line telephone service in November and early December.

First, Cable & Wireless Jamaica apologises unreservedly to Namaste Employment Services. The problems were caused by a combination of factors, including an intermittent fault on the customer line, power instability at our Tower Isle site and repeated damage to our overhead cable network by persons unknown.

We are pleased to say that the problems have now been resolved and Cable & Wireless has been monitoring the service to ensure that there is no recurrence of the fault.

Again, our sincere apologies.

I am, etc.,

ERROL K. MILLER

Vice-President,

Corporate Communications & Corporate Affairs
