Harbour View dominate Central
published: Thursday | January 3, 2008

Dwight Nelson, Freelance Writer

THE 'STARS of the East', Harbour View, registered an impressive 3-0 victory over Sporting Central Academy in their Cash Plus Premier League (CPPL) game at Brancourt yesterday.

Harbour View dominated play and showed their superiority over promoted Sporting Central Academy.

The game, which many spectators described as a training session, saw the visitors dominate from start to finish.

Fabian Taylor could have put Harbour View in the lead as early as the fifth minute when he headed a Jermaine Hue cross wide of the Sporting Central goal.

Harbour View did claim the lead in the 16th minute when Lovel Palmer made a classic cross which Richard Edwards headed past Sporting Central custodian Leighton Murray.

More organised

At the start of the second half, Sporting Central came out looking a bit more organised with the injection of forward Cornell Learmond and Onike Ford into the game but the guys from the 'East' maintained their composure and in the 68th minute increased their lead when Fabian Taylor converted from a rebound off the goalkeeper courtesy of a Jermaine Hue Free kick some 25 yards from Sporting Central goal.

Kavin Bryan sealed the victory for his team in the 90th minute when he dribbled into the Sporting goal area and pushed a tame ball past Murray.

Lenworth Hyde, coach of the winning team, said: "It was a very good performance from the team. We played the ball around well and I think the surface on which we played had a lot to do with our performance."
