Jamaica's 'sin city' came alive with activity on Friday, December 21, as scores of beautiful people came to celebrate the eighth anniversary of Osmosis - the must-attend, all-inclusive event that has found favour with Jamaica's young social elite.
Maintaining their signature theme of SVB - Super all-inclusive, Vibes and Beautiful people - the Mad Circle Entertainment team treated their patrons to a First-World rated party experience, pleasantly devoid of the excessive chatter on the DJ's microphone that often plagues local events. It was a night for very little talking, and a whole lot of dancing, as the musical mastery of Renaissance, DJ Bambino, ZJ Liquid and Coppershot provided the vibes that brought the multi-level dance floors to life.
Fort Charles could've just about crumbled when Bugle and Saran's hit song Oh hit the turntables, which just happened to be the promotional tune for Osmosis.
Priceless Osmosis moments
"Eighth anniversary, can't miss this, doh!" screamed the patrons while performing their version of the 'Mavado Rock', 'Paper Bag', and other current Jamaican dance moves. This was only one of many priceless Osmosis moments as the patrons partied well into the wee hours of the morning, amid a beautifully decorated venue enhanced by architect/fashion designer Michelle 'Siim' Clarke.
As always, the event provided variety in cuisine and drink and ease of accessibility, which characterise the Osmosis experience. They stayed true to the SVB theme with 10 of Kingston's hippest eateries represented in the food court, along with several strategically placed bars.
SVB aside, Mad Circle also introduced a new element this year, to reward their key supporters, sponsors, media and VIPs for their long-time endorsement of the event - the Osmosis Skybox.
A select 300 luminaries were elevated to the heavens, overlooking the main dance floor, in the Osmosis Skybox, where they enjoyed top-shelf liquor, five-star cuisine, and a private dance floor with every need catered to by private hostesses and personal concierge service. There was a bird's-eye view of the activity below while they partied in their private nook.
Lounging in the skybox were: Mad Circle Entertainment's Phillip 'PP' Palmer and Jermaine Brown, along with Safia Cooper of Smirnoff, major long-standing sponsors of the event. Miss Jamaica World 2007, Yendi Phillipps; Saint International boss Deiwight Peters; Tishan Wade of the National Commercial Bank - sponsors of the skybox, hanging with her sister Tara Wade. Also out to party were: Wisynco's Kimberly Lawson; international recording artiste Sean Paul and his mini-entourage; also Baby Cham; television personalities Winford Williams and Candice Buchanan; Omar Brown, Dwayne Dacres and Garfield Wedderburn of Syndicate Entertainment promoting their New Year's Eve soirée - Absinthe.
