Harbour View win
published: Monday | December 24, 2007

Ainsley Walters, Freelance Writer

STRIKER Kavin Bryan, who ended last season second best with 17 goals, broke his drought last night with a 64th minute goal to hand defending champions Harbour View a 1-0 win over Reno in their Cash Plus Premier League match at Compound last night.

Bryan's first goal of the season also handed Harbour View their first win in three games, moving the homesters three spots up the standings to fourth on 19 points, eight behind leaders Portmore United.

The loss kept Reno on 16 points, but pushed the men from Westmoreland one spot down the ladder to seventh.

Harbour View turned up the heat on Reno 10 minutes after the first half when Fabian Taylor brought out a great reflex save from goalkeeper Lamart McIntosh with a high blast from 20 yards.

The homesters got an easier opportunity to lead four minutes later when Palmer streaked in at the far post to meet Lance Laing's flat cross from the left but unbelievably failed to convert what should have been a simple tap-in.

Reno got a similar chance soon after but Fabian Blake chose to play the ball across goal instead of shooting.
