MISS CREE (right), ridden by leading jockey Omar Walker, just holds on from the fast-finishing but luckless ALFALLO (Oral Bennett) to win the sixth race for 3-y-o maidens, over the straight five course, at Caymanas Park on Wednesday. She won at odds of 5-2. - Colin Hamilton/Freelance Photographer

Having eluded punters at Caymanas Park on Wednesday, the Pick-9 offers a carryover of $1.5 million tomorrow.

With STACKA at 17-1 in the closing race, FOXMAN at 14-1 in the third and JADORE at 12-1 in the feature providing the upsets, it was a foregone conclusion that there would be a carryover.

The Pick-9 embraces races three to 11 on the card, while the Super-6 will be conducted from race six to 11. We look at the Super-6 which gets under way with a circular nine restricted allowance race for five-year-olds and up in which eight starters have been declared.

The ones to note are BAILAME, SHARMI MY LOVE, WILD SIDE, HIGH GOLD and MAKE THEM LAFF. The latter could well be the best horse in the field, but he has developed a tardy habit at the start lately and it's touch and go whether he will leave the gates promptly.

Last time out on November 24, MAKE THEM LAFF was installed a firm favourite at 7-5, but dwelt at the start and trailed home a distant last.

SHARMI MY LOVE failed by half a length to catch MOON DANCER over 1600 metres on November 24 and must be a dangerous horse with 50.0kg and in-form apprentice Carlton Malcolm aboard, while WILD SIDE has the speed to set off in front and will have to be caught.

Eased in the weights

Preference, however, is for HIGH GOLD who was a close-up fourth to MOON DANCER in that 1600-metre race on November 24. Now eased in the weights and connections going for in-form jockey Dane Nelson, HIGH GOLD gets the nod over SHARMI MY LOVE and MAKE THEM LAFF. |The seventh race for three-year-olds over 1200 metres looks tailored for OUTFITHER, who had no luck in running when finishing 2 1/4 lengths third to the imported filly SNEAKY SIS in a fast-run 1100-metre race on November 24. OUTFITHER was hindered when full of running early in the last furlong and did well in the circumstances. The grey filly from the stables of 14-time champion Philip Feanny has pleased in her preparation and despite the sound claims of stable-companion ISLA, TAKE FIVE and recent winner THE BEST MAN, she looks a tough cookie with only 49.0kg. TRUE SENSATION, now dropped in class, gets the nod over GRANDPA'S DREAM and SIMPLY AWESOME in the eighth race for $170,000 claimers over 1200 metres.TRUE SENSATION finished 2 3/4 lengths fifth to HARMONICS over the distance on November 3 and was not beaten far by UGOTTABELIEVE in her subsequent race, both on $210,000 tags.

Briefly, DR, BADOO, working well and best drawn on the stands' side, gets the nod over SMOOTH DUDE and the speedy COLLEGE BOY in the ninth race over the straight, while the last two races should be won by SANTA ANITA GIRL and the speedy PURE JUSTICE, respectively.
