The rains couldn't stop the party

It was a damp evening on Thursday, December 13, as the staff of Jamaica Trade and Invest held their annual Christmas party.

The name may have changed but the location remains the same, and the company's car park on Braemar Avenue turned into a social club of sorts for the shindig. It was an all-white theme for the party and some guests, especially the ladies, took that seriously, sporting some fine variations of the colour. Though the invites stated 7:00 p.m. the party crowd turned out later; a few of the guests hopping home to 'freshen up' for the event.

Too bad that (now deceased storm) Olga, who did quite some damage in the region, duly dumped some drops on the gathering. First she delayed a few guests from coming out, and then later, just as the DJ went into soca mode, her drops sent partygoers scurrying for shelter.

But the heavens eased off the rain throttle afterwards, allowing a few moves from the willing dancers.
