Bare Essentials singer Sandy 'buss' a move at the JNBS Christmas social at the Cable and Wireless Golf Academy last Saturday.
THE LAWN of the Cable and Wireless Golf Club was transformed into a tropical oasis last Saturday for the Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) Christmas party.
Under the theme 'Hawaiian Aloha', guests strolled in and were greeted with leis, a welcome drink - a choice of piņa colada or strawberry daiquiri - the sweet scent of pork and the groovy sounds of Renaissance disco keeping the vibes right.
Getting the ball a-rolling was Earl Jarrett, general manager of JNBS, who commended workers on the hard work they had done, making 2007 a prosperous one for the group of companies. With 97 per cent of their customers satisfied, the formation of subsidiary companies and proud profits, the management and staff had more than enough reasons to party, and it was time to do just that.
MC Denise Hunt started things off with a few giveaways, but one had to work for the prizes. First, the grass-skirt dance gave five women the opportunity to shake what their mama gave them. The men were not left out, as they got to prove the strength of their backs and legs in the limbo dance-off.
Children Of The Drums set the party ablaze with their exuberant performance that included fire dancers, who kept the partygoers in awe. Errol Lee and the Bare Essentials wowed the audience with hits such as Morgan Heritage's Down By The River, Tessanne Chin's Hideaway and Alecia Keys' No One.
With the concert segment out of the way, Renaissance turned up the heat as guests ate, drank and danced the night away.
