Take Sneaky Sis
published: Friday | November 23, 2007

Both the Pick-9 and Super-6 offer attractive carryovers tomorrow after eluding punters at Caymanas Park on Wednesday.

Upsets by ROAD BLOCK at 16-1 in the sixth race and ENDURING at 13-1 in the seventh ensured there would be carryovers.

The Pick-9, embracing races three to 11, offers a $1.32 million carryover and a payout in excess of $2 million looks a mere formality. The Super-6 boasts a carryover of $767,263.50.

On what is dubbed Pick-3 Day at Caymanas, Park, courtesy of Supreme Ventures Limited, we look at the Super-6 which gets under way in the sixth race over the circular nine course confined to maiden three-year-olds. The winner will more than likely come from the quarter comprising JADORE, JJ'S RED ROCKET, MAY FLOWER and DR. STEPHANIE.

Knocking at the door

JADORE has been knocking at the door for some time an unproven over the distance, the quality of her performances in recent months could prove a decisive factor.

However, given the distance of this race, MAY FLOWER gets a glorious opportunity to make amends for her disappointing third as the favourite to TRUE HONOUR over a mile last Saturday, a race in which DR. STEPHANIE was second.

Model of consistency

NUMERO UNO, now dropped in class, has been a model of consistency and with title-chasing jockey Trevor Simpson now slated, should stave off JACK BE GOOD and ITALQUEEN under leading jockey Omar Walker in the seventh.

Then take the well-forward debutant, the American filly SNEAKY SIS (working exceptionally well) from the stables of champion trainer Wayne DaCosta to make a winning debut at the expense of fellow debutante JODI'S CALL and OUTFITTER in the eighth for native and imported three-year-olds over 1100 metres.

The ninth, a $170,000 claiming race over the straight, should resolve itself into a straight fight between recent course winner ABOUNDING GRACE and MAKING DREAMS.

Feature on the card is the 10th, Race No. 2 in the Supreme Ventures 2-y-o series, the $2.75 million Pick-3 Super Challenge Trophy over 1400 metres to be contested by seven starters, including likely favourite THE REAL STREAM.

Trained by DaCosta, the grey gelding won race one in the series (Cash Pot Trophy) over 1200 metres on October 13, and having looked razor sharp at exercise since, is tipped to repeat. Still, he will have to run every inch of the way to stave off the Noel Ennevor-trained HOMBRE, who impressed in winning the Hi-Pro Stables Choice Feeds Trophy over 1300 metres (in the fast time of 1:19.2) on his October 15 debut.
