Stepping into the exotic Westmoreland Suite at Couples Swept Away in Negril last Saturday was enough to excite anyone.
Ladies and gentlemen dressed in white linen with flowing waistbands, serving some of the most exquisite hors d'oeuvres and aperitifs, created the perfect setting for the members of La Chaine Des Rotisseurs (the Chaine).
La Chaine Des Rotisseurs can be described as a society of ladies and gentlemen with an avid interest in superb food and wine. Founded in Paris in 1950, this society currently has members in more than 70 countries worldwide.
Promotion awards
Newly inducted into the society were Christopher Reckord and his wife Kerry-Ann, along with Virginia O'Neil, Jaime Delgado, Atol Smith, Kolleen Russell as well as Trevor Golding who received promotion awards for over 15 years of membership in the society. Gloria Schenck and Robert Hoehener became commanders after fermenting in the society for 20 years. Yvonne Tucker and Derek Watson were awarded bronze stars for their special service to the Chaine for 20 years, and Kermit Tucker was honoured with a silver star for helping to develop Jamaica's Chaine chapter and others in the Caribbean.
The dinner that followed was simply spectacular, and the wonderful wines had everyone in high spirits and provided the perfect close to a great evening.
In attendance were: Ricardo Bowleg of Couples Swept Away, Karen Lannigan of Couples Negril, Senator Noel Sloley and his wife Sharon, Pierre Battaglia of Couples Sans Souci, Natascha Kessler, Dr. Marcela Oben, Hedonism III's Kevin Levee and his wife Cecile.
