Family in distress
published: Wednesday | November 21, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

I am a single parent from the parish of Manchester with five children. I have four children for this man and we lived together for over 10 years. He left me with all of them and I went to live with my mother and father so there are over 22 of us living under the same roof. The house is so full some of them often sleep on the floor and that is not good for the children.

Cannot afford the books

The two girls are 20 and 12 and the boys are 14,10 and 8. I can't even buy their textbooks. One is in grade five and one is in grade three and I also have two grand-children; one is four years old and the other is one year and seven months old.

I don't want my children to suffer. I do a little farming. Sometimes I get a day's work. I am not lying; If you want to come and see it will be no problem.

I need a shelter over our heads. Please, anyone able to help please contact me at this number 409-3825.

I am looking forward for someone to answer.

I am, etc.,
