Keep flowerpots damp and use soil instead of water only in flowerpots, to decrease the likelihood of dengue.

Many people believe having many trees around the house will keep it cool, but there is danger of creating breeding ground for mosquitoes. There needs to be continuous education on environmentally safe practices, especially in rural areas.

People need to be constantly reminded to dispose of containers appropriately, especially plastics. Jamaica does not need an outbreak of dengue, now or ever.
