Jamaica in denial
published: Friday | November 2, 2007

Clarke

Head of Jamaica's biggest bank, William 'Bill' Clarke, the president of Scotiabank, says manufacturers are in denial if they believe they can compete globally.

Clarke, a top executive in Jamaica who tells it as he sees it, also expects that the high-investment schemes will come crashing down, saying it's just a matter of when.

Jamaicans, he suggests, are victims of their own impatience - always going after quick money and unwilling to invest in small businesses.
