RIDING HIGH on a nine-game unbeaten streak, Manning Cup champions Bridgeport will face an inspired Calabar in today's feature game of the ISSA/ Pepsi/Digicel Walker Cup, which kicks off at 1:00 p.m. today at Stadium East.

In the second game of the doubleheader, Excelsior will attempt to slow down a Jamaica College (JC) team, who, with 16 goals in their past two games, have turned in some awe-inspiring performances this season.

However, Excelsior, led by the likes of the tricky Alanzo Adlam, are no slouches themselves, as made evident by their 7-0 demolishment of Camperdown, and know how to find the back of the net.

On the other hand, Excelsior will be forced to keep their eyes peeled for the crafty Ramone Palmer, a player who netted a hat-trick against a more than capable Norman Manley team in the quarter-finals.

Palmer is also the only player this season to score six goals in one game, a feat he accomplished against St. Mary's College last month.

However, with the occur-rences of the past couple of days still fresh in their minds, most eyes will be fixed on the opening fixture.

Dedication

Calabar have dedicated the rest of their season to recently deceased coach David Hunt but they may need a bit more than that to turn back a high-powered Bridgeport offence.

Led by the likes of one of the competition's top scorers, André Clennon, midfielder Nicoy Christian, Adrian King and former Under-17 national representative, André Steele, Bridgeport, in full flight, can be simply splendid in attack. They have already netted 36 times this season.

Despite slipping by St. Andrew Technical (STATHS) 2-1 in the competition's quarter-finals, Calabar a defensively solid unit, are expected to have their hands full in today's encounter.
