Yendi is absolutely radiant in a satin blue gown with feathery accesories from Uzuri International
Yendi Phillipps will be looking like a tropical gem at the Miss World pageant to be held in Sanya, China, on December 2.
Last Tuesday, Miss Jamaica World 2007 showcased her wardrobe for the big competition, at the Spartan Health Club. Miss Jamaica World 2005, Dr. Terri-Karelle Griffith, was the emcee.
Yendi entered the stage looking graceful in designs by Neah Lis. The first piece, entitled 'Casual Culture', was a reggae-inspired number, a halter-back long dress in red, yellow and green.
The second outfit was called 'Orange Vintage', a long halter-back dress with a deep plunge line in bright tropical orange. Going with the culture of China was a kimono with a twist, designed by Neah Lis in tiger and daisy print.
Specially made for her trip to China, Susan Chin Penn designed two Chinese cultural outfits for Yendi, the first being turquoise and gold. The second outfit was a fitted brown pants with a Chinese-styled gold blouse. Yendi also looked professional in a white suit from Pablo Palair with a polka dot handkerchief to add some flair.
Looking like an African Queen, Yendi wore a three-piece mermaid suit in purple and green from Shades of Africa. Last, but far from least, was a wide selection from Uzuri International.
Uzuri International supplied more than 11 pieces that will be worn during Yendi's stay in China. The first Uzuri number was a orange/peachy silk bustiere and a skirt piped with mesh. Uzuri's designs obviously had a very tropical look, with light material and tropical colours. They utilised a lot of teal, light blues, oranges, pink and green with interesting cuts across the stomach and back to show off Yendi's figure.
The last two numbers shown from Uzuri were the ones that might be used as her gown for the show. The first was a mint green sparkling long dress, the other, which was a crowd favourite, was a red dress with a split in the front with sparkling jewels. Yendi leaves for China today.
