The two men convicted of the murder of former president of the Gasolene Retailers Association Lloyd G. Brown and his 49-year-old fiancée, Sandra Campbell, will be sentenced on November 2.
Peter Dougal, 37, farmer and construction worker, of Santoy district, Hanover, and Donald Whyte, 40-year-old labourer, of a Kingston address, should have been sentenced yesterday but Dougal was not taken to court.
Put off sentencing
Justice Norma McIntosh put off the sentencing and ordered that steps should be taken to bring Dougal to court on the next occasion.
The men should have been sentenced last week, but sentencing was put off after Dougal challenged four of the eight previous convictions on the record sheet. Sentencing was put off for the police to verify the convictions.
Brown, 62, and Campbell were shot dead at Campbell's Stillwell Road residence in Stony Hill, St. Andrew about 4.30 a.m. on June 6, 2004.
The men were found guilty in the Home Circuit Court in July of the double murder.
