Harbour View clip August Town 2-1
published: Thursday | October 25, 2007

Keisha Hill, Staff Reporter

HORMONE LEVELS reached fever pitch during the aggressively contested match between August Town and Harbour View in the Cash Plus Premier League at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Bowl yesterday. Tempers flared as Harbour View downed host August Town 2-1 to increase their points tally to nine in the competition.

Such was the intensity of the game that six yellow cards and one red were issued. Harbour View picked up four yellow cards while August Town were shown two and will be without striker Ajuran Brown in their upcoming match against Seba. Brown was issued a red card after obtaining two yellows during the game. From the start it was obvious that both teams were on the hunt for three points.

Harbour view dominates

In the first half, Harbour View dominated, scoring their first goal in the 36th minute when Loxley Thomas passed to striker Fabian Taylor who scored.

The half ended 1-0 as August Town seemed no match for the Harbour View team which boasted national footballers Jermaine Taylor, Lovel Palmer, Donald Stewart, Richard Edwards, Jermaine Hue, Fabian Taylor and Kavin Bryan.

Within minutes of the restart, Harbour View struck again as Robert Scarlett found Taylor who again scored in the 47th minute.

This seemed like an eye-opener for August Town as they picked up the pace and scored their only goal from Daniel Shaw in the 67th minute.

Harbour View's coach Lenworth Hyde was relatively pleased with his team's performance.

"I think we performed well in the first half. The August Town team played a very spirited game as they had us on the back foot for about 15 to 20 minutes in the second half. We stood up well and it was a well-deserved three points for my team," Hyde said.

Scores
