Withdraw that coach!
published: Wednesday | October 24, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

I heartily endorse what my friend Tony Becca wrote in yesterday's (Tuesday 22nd) edition. 'An insult to West Indian People' As an avid cricket fan there must be something that we who have been so humiliated by this board can do. Is the board a law unto itself? What if none of us support the team? What if we boycott all games from now on? What will the board be in charge of?

Quite seriously, the paying public has been too complacent. Let this be the straw that wrecks cricket in the West Indies. Come on fans, let our voices be heard loud and clear, we will take no more of this kind of thinking from this board. We demand a withdrawal of the Australian coach now.

The sponsors of West Indies cricket should take the lead in showing our utter disgust at this board or we will withdraw our support of their products.

Tony, please take the lead role in this effort to bring the board to its senses.

Cricket fans, it's time for action.

I am, etc.,

A. GUY MORRIS
