The annual Bell-Ziadie Memorial football match, held in honour of past stalwarts Winthorpe 'Jackie' Bell and Dennis Ziadie, will take place as usual on Heroes Day, today, between the Masters and Celebrities team and a St. George's Invitational at Winchester Park, St. George's College, at 3:30 p.m.
This will be the 21st staging of the contest, which is organised by Clive 'Busy' Campbell, and recognises the contributions of Bell and Ziadie, who played on St. George's College, All Schools, St. George's division one and Jamaica's football teams. Bell also coached the national senior team and Super League team Santos during its heydays when the Corporate Area club won its five National League titles. Ziadie, one of the first players contracted to the North American Soccer League, was also a national youth and St. George's College coach.
