Thirty-three employees of Caymanas Track Limited (CTL) were honoured for their contribution to the company at its first long-service awards dinner at the Hilton Kingston hotel, New Kingston, last Thursday night
.
Six of them were recognised for service of 16 years and over, while 74-year-old Kenneth Thomas, who has been employed to the promoting company for 36 years, recieved a special award. Thomas has worked in the stores at Caymanas Park.
The six recieveing awrds for 16 years and over were racing secretary, Denzil Miller Jr.; Felix Samuels, better known as the CTL bikeman or postman; Victor Chung, who works in the accounts department; Florence 'Sammy' Samuels; Marie Patterson; and Sharon Scott, who was absent. All received commemorative plaques and cash incentives.
The remaining 26 employees were recognised for services ranging from 10 to 15 years. The list reads Kingsley Gentles, Everton Henry, Michael Sibbles, Stephon Hinds, Wayne Hinds, Overlina 'Bev' Harding, Collin Atkinson, Sidney Baines, Donna Wong, Devon Brown, Sharon Case, Laurel Cross, Desmond Easy, Leroy Fagan, Marie Frith, Ricardo Harrison, Dudley Jackson, Albert Jordon, Craig Mclaughin, Wayne Campbell, Leighton Pryce, Errol Robinson, Patrick Rowe, Mark Shepperd, Nadine Welsh, Raquel Stewart, Paula Forrester and Ricardo Harrison.
Newly appointed Minister of Finance, Audley Shaw, was the guest speaker.
