The American Chamber of Commerce of Jamaica (AmCham) will hold a speakers' forum luncheon, featuring Jamaica's newly elected Prime Minister, the Hon. Bruce Golding. This has sparked keen interest from a wide cross section of the Jamaican business community and stakeholders from as far away as Washington and New York.Bookings for the fourth in The Gleaner-sponsored AmCham 2007 series have been continuously robust and boast a venerable list of attendees, including United States Ambassador Brenda LaGrange Johnson, former U.S. Ambassador Sue Cobb, Ambassador Roland Bullen, Lascelles Chin of LASCO, Mark McKenzie - Red Stripe, Patrick Hylton - National Commercial Bank (NCB), Kenny Benjamin of the Guardsman Group, Dennis Lalor, Earl Samuels of National Housing Trust and William Mahfood of Wisynco.
Expecting capacity crowd
According to Audrey Marks, president of AmCham, "We are expecting a capacity crowd for this event, as many of our members and friends are eager to hear more on the Prime Minister's plans for 'a new paradigm of constructive engagement.'"
She added that AmCham stands ready to work with the Government and the Opposition to create an environment that will stimulate tremendous growth for the country and, in so doing, underscore the chamber's mandate of promoting a pro-business environment that will facilitate trade and investment between Jamaica and the United States.
This is the fourth in the AmCham 2007 Series which has featured internationally renowned motivational speaker Lorna Owens, U.S. Consul General Edward Wehrli and Christopher Anand, managing director of the Tavistock Group. Sponsored by Red Stripe, NCB, the Guardsman Group, LASCO, The Gleaner and Cable and Wireless Business Solutions, the event is expected to attract close to 200 guests.
