It was the 'Rum Ram King', Romain Virgo, who walked away with the 2007 Digicel Rising Stars title at Friday night's grand finale show over Clarendon's Jodi-Ann Pantry. It was all nerves inside the studios of TVJ as the live audience and the two finalists endured an extended wait before the winner was announced. However, when the results were out, loud cheers erupted in the studios as Virgo came out on top. An emotional Virgo was unable to hold back his tears, while a humble Pantry conceded her second place as a win.
Romain received a $1,000,000 cash prize from Digicel and $100,000 call credit. He also received the chance to record three singles with Green Sleeves records. Pantry won a cash prize of $600, 000 and a chance to record one single with Green Sleeves, among other prizes.
