THE TRIBUTE To The Greats show, originally scheduled for August 11, will be held on Saturday at the Curphey Place in Swallowfield, St. Andrew.

Organiser, Kingsley 'King Omar' Goodison said the event was postponed due to unstable weather.

"It's been a long time in coming but everyone is ready and we are hoping to have a good time," Goodison said.

Honouring stalwarts

Several music industry stalwarts will be honoured including 'Bunny Livingstone' Wailer, founding member of The Wailers, roots group The Mystic Revelation of Rastafari, singer/songwriter Bob Andy, singer Marcia Griffiths, ska pioneer Derrick Morgan, disc jockey Anthony 'Hol' Plummer and the Merritone sound system.

First held in 1998, 'Tributes To The Greats' has recognised the work of persons who contributed significantly to the development of Jamaican pop culture.

Former Prime Minister, Edward Seaga, pianist Theophilus 'Snappin' Beckford, keyboardist/arranger Jackie Mittoo, and musician/engineer Hedley Jones, were honoured at the function.
